Program Curriculum
The Hairstyling program at Cappa College is a comprehensive, hands-on training course that prepares students for a successful career in the salon industry. With a mix of in-class and online instruction, this 9-month, full-time program balances theory, practical training for the remaining 6 months, and client interaction to ensure students graduate with the confidence and skills to thrive in a professional salon environment.
Students will gain foundational knowledge in the first three months and progress to advanced training, working on real clients and building their hairstyling portfolio. This program includes professional tools, support with apprenticeship registration, and industry connections to help students transition directly into the workforce.
Course Highlights
Students are introduced to essential hairstyling techniques and build confidence through structured phases:
- Junior Level (Months 1–3)
- Foundational instruction including theory, basic techniques, and safety
- Advanced Level (Months 4–9)
- Client services in the student salon
- Real-time experience with haircuts, styling, color, chemical treatments, and more
- Salon management principles
- Customer service and communication
- Preparation for licensing and apprenticeship completion
- Student salon services take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10:15 AM to 3:30 PM.

- Apprenticeship Credits: Cappa signs off on a part of your apprenticeship training
