At Cappa College, you build your hairstyling skills in structured phases, progressing from foundational learning to real client services with support from experienced instructors.

Junior Level

Months 1–3

Build your foundation with theory, safety, sanitation, basic techniques, and essential salon knowledge.

You’ll learn how to approach hairstyling with the right technical foundation before progressing into more advanced, client-facing work.

How Long Is the Hairstyling Program?

Cappa College’s Hairstyling Diploma Program is a 9-month, full-time program. It includes 1,500 hours of hairstyling training.

The program is delivered in a hybrid format. Students attend on-campus training on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and complete online learning on Tuesday and Thursday.

Student salon services take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:15 AM to 3:30 PM.

Yes. Students progress from foundational training into advanced, client-based services in the student salon.

Students learn essential hairstyling techniques, including haircutting, styling, colouring, chemical treatments, client care, salon safety, customer service, communication, and salon management principles.

This program helps prepare you for the hairstyling trade pathway, but licensing and certification requirements are administered through Skilled Trades Ontario. Cappa College provides apprenticeship registration support and training credits to help students move forward.

Yes. Eligible students have access to OSAP, Better Jobs Ontario, and interest-free payment plan options.

Yes. Career support services include résumé coaching, interview preparation, and employer connection opportunities.

We offer monthly intakes. Classes start on the first Monday of each month.
